I've been making functional pottery for about 30 years and I've turned my garage into my studio. The clay and glazes can be unpredictable and I enjoy the surprises that I find at the end of a firing when I open my kiln..

For over half a century, my journey as a photographer has been deeply intertwined with the natural environment, seeking to capture its unspoken beauty and the profound stories it holds. As an environmentally conscious artist, my work is a testament to the awe-inspiring yet fragile world that surrounds us, urging a collective responsibility to preserve and honor it.
My photographic odyssey began in the vibrant landscape of the San Francisco Bay Area, where I established and ran a studio dedicated to the fine art of photography. Over these years, my work has evolved, yet my core mission remains steadfast: to create images that speak to the soul, invoking a deeper connection between humanity and nature.
My expertise spans both black and white and color photography, each serving as a unique medium to explore and express the intricate nuances of the natural world. Black and white photography allows me to focus on the timeless and elemental aspects of my subjects, stripping away distractions to reveal the essence of form, texture, and light. Conversely, color photography provides a rich palette to convey the vividness and dynamic energy of the landscapes I encounter.
I have had the honor of my work being published in esteemed collections such as the Ansel Adams Polaroid Technique manual, as well as numerous other print periodicals. These publications have provided a platform to share my vision and underscore the importance of environmental stewardship through the lens of photography.
In my studio, I personally oversee the production of first-party prints, ensuring each piece meets my exacting standards. Utilizing archival materials and a state-of-the-art Canon 12-color printer, I strive to create prints that are not only visually stunning but also enduring. Each print is a tangible expression of my commitment to quality and my respect for the artistry and craft of photography.
Through my lens, I endeavor to inspire a sense of wonder and reverence for the natural environment. My hope is that my photographs will not only be seen but felt, prompting a greater awareness and appreciation for the world we inhabit. As we face unprecedented environmental challenges, I believe art has the power to ignite change, fostering a more sustainable and harmonious relationship with nature.

The female figure is almost always featured in my art. My current technique is textile mixed media as seen in my most recent figurative fabric collages inspired by Gustav Klimt. I try to capture his sensual lines and the luminescence of his paintings with jewel tone fabrics, beautiful decorative patterns, and hand stitching for the face and body. I also love that people can wear my art. My favorite designs are printed on silky fashion scarves.
